7 After 7

I  finished  the 7th and last  installment  of  the Harry Potter series. I don’t give spoilers unless asked so you don’t have to worry that I would give juicy info about Snape.

I  never  was  much of a reader before I read Harry Potter. What I am saying is Rowling probably  made  a reader out of me or that her books brought it out into the open. Only after Harry Potter did I start reading books without hesitations no matter how voluminous they seem.

Memories   gushed   back   at   me  after  I  closed  the  last  book  of  the  series.  I remembered  particularly  a  periodical exams  week  when  instead  of  brushing  up on my subjects, I read Harry Potter books; one for each day of the week.

What  probably  made  me  a  fan  is the feeling of empathy I seem to have towards Harry.  We’re  not  close  and  all, but we seem to share similarities. And no, it’s not magic  nor  the  ability  to make a twig’s tip luminescent. Only simple things like: when Harry was a dormer, I too was.

And  now as I finished the series after 7 years I thoughtfully muse over the fact that it took just as long for me to stop being a dormer.

It was good. :-) But I would have liked something a tad more poignant to end the book, though. The epilogue was just surreal, wasn’t it?

Yes, she kinda left a lot of answers unelaborated… but all the more reason to have a sequel! -or prequel at that! Hahaha!

  3. Jordan Says:

Nah. I think the last book gave a very good closure.

I had a feeling you’ve laid hands on the book as soon as it was released. I didn’t get past book 2 and only read parts of book 3. If anything good has come out of Harry Potter, it is the fact that many people have rediscovered the joy of reading.
