The Byakugan:

The Byakugan or
"White Eyes" is a unique genetic trait of the powerful Hyuuga ninja
clan. It allows the ninja to see through almost any material: somewhat like a
combination of x-ray and thermal vision. This ability of the Hyuuga clan
correlates with their other ability which allows them to emit chakra at any
part of their body.
The Hyuuga clan are experts in hand-to-hand combat and created their own style
of fighting called Jyuuken or "Gentle Fist" which is based on
circular moves that emphasizes the flow of chakra and how it can be used to
defeat an enemy. These abilities working together makes the Hyuuga ninja a
formidable close-combat opponent since by using the Byakugan to see the vital
points of the enemy’s body the Hyuuga ninja can inject a devastating flow of
chakra inside the enemy’s body which if used effectively can be a fatal move.

The secrets of this ability are supposedly for the use of the Hyuuga clan
