Trivial Grammar, Gobstoppers and Nerds

Saturday, April 30th, 2005

Among the 6 Balite progenies I am the only one who hadn’t won not even joined in a Math competition. (Note: In England, Math is plural and is called Maths) And its a big ego crusher, even frustrating. Its like you know how to fish but you only catch guppy sized fish. (Note: Fish is singular and plural) Its not that I hate Math as you would’ve deduced. It’s Math that hates me. Apparently since I was in 1st year High School, we agreed that we have a Mutual Misunderstanding. Believe me, I’m not bad in Math when I was in Elementary School. (Note: In Europe, they call it Grammar School) Come to think of it, the heaviest Math I’ve done when I was a child was with 5 peso coins that I pilfered from my Lola’s coin bank to buy Gobstoppers and Nerds from the School Canteen.Tsk tsk tsk. Apparently I never did had a good history with Math, I still don’t, and I doubt I will.

Blog. Apparently millions of net users have fallen addicted to this growing fad. Funny too since the name itself is onomatopoeic to falling. I guess, the idea of publishing your life for all to read, exposing a chunk of your being to friends and strangers alike seems to appeal to a lot of people; regardless of being scrutinized and criticized for whatever entry that you posted. For example, this very entry could be swarming with plenty of typographical and grammatical errors that could very well send plenty of my friends in a fit of laughter or make some of them to squirm uncomfortably in their seats while reading this. I never expected blogging would boom to be as big as it is now. I expected people would be prudent enough not to put themselves prone to public humiliation. There’s just something about blog isn’t it?
